About Dr Lee

Dr Jarrod Lee is a specialist in Gastroenterology with a clinical interest in Endoscopy, Pancreatobiliary Disorders and Digestive Cancers. He graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1998 and attained specialist accreditation in 2009. In 2010, he was invited to set up a Gastroenterology Service for the then newly opened Khoo Teck Puat Hospital where he established the Endoscopy Centre and Division of Gastroenterology. He left for the private sector in 2013 and ran a successful solo practice before founding gutCARE in 2014.

Dr Jarrod Lee is a well-recognised endoscopist in the region. He is competent in most general and advanced endoscopic procedures, including EUS, ERCP and small bowel endoscopy. Dr Lee has established himself in advanced endoscopy, in complex endoscopic cases and in combining endoscopic platforms and techniques. In 2011, he won the ASGE AV award for endoscopy, beating over 100 submissions from 17 countries to win the prestigious international award. Dr Lee was the first doctor from Southeast Asia to earn this honour.

Dr Lee is regularly invited as faculty in endoscopic workshops and conferences both locally and regionally. He lectures extensively both locally and regionally, especially in his subspeciality interests of ‘next generation’ and advanced endoscopy, digestive cancers and pancreatobiliary disorders. He also reviews for the top endoscopy journals in the world, and consults for the major companies in the endoscopy industry.

Despite the many recent advances in endoscopy, Dr Lee firmly believes that it does not replace the core of good clinical practice: the evidence-based yet patient-centric clinical decisions, multidisciplinary teamwork and good effective patient communications. As such, he continues to be active in general gastroenterology practice, partnering with primary health care providers, and educating both family physicians and the public about digestive disorders and digestive health.
