About Dr Foo
Dr Leon Foo graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1999. He obtained both his postgraduate Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, as well as his Masters of Medicine in Orthopaedic Surgery in 2004. He subsequently obtained his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in Orthopaedic Surgery in 2008. He is presently an Associate Consultant within the Musculoskeletal Tumour Service in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Singapore General Hospital.
Dr Foo has an active interest in orthopaedic oncology, both bone and soft tissue cancers. As the surgical member in the multi-disciplinary oncology team looking after cancer patients, Dr Foo’s contribution lies with his expertise and experience in cancer tissue removal, as well as the subsequent reconstructive surgery. This includes limb-preserving surgery for bone and soft tissue cancers involving the limbs with reconstruction using either autografts, allografts or mega-prosthesis implants.
Dr Foo has completed his orthopaedic oncology fellowship under the auspices of the Singapore Government Ministry of Health Training Scholarship at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota, United States of America and Munster University Hospital, Germany.
